About Us / History

Gem Plastics Ltd is a privately owned organisation founded in 1987 on a shared site with the previously established lubricants business, Gem Oils Ltd at Cavan, Ireland.

Rapid expansion of Gem Plastics prompted the re-location of Gem Oils Ltd to a new purpose built facility in 2004. This leaves a large dedicated site for Gem Plastics Ltd with suitable development potential.

From our modern 10,000 sq metre manufacturing plant in Cavan, and our fully stocked U.K. based warehouse and logistics organisation at Haydock, U.K. Gem Plastics offers a full range of HDPE industrial containers from 5L to 220L capacity.

Continuous investment and updating of technology and systems ensure that Gem Plastics provides top quality plastic containers for use in every sector of the packaging industry.
In addition, Gem manufactures floatation devices for use in the Mussel growing industry.
Our wide customer base comprises companies of all sizes including multinationals throughout Ireland, the U.K and at various locations around the world.
